-NC Division of Veterans Affairs - In appreciation for the service and sacrifices of North Carolina’s war veterans, a four-year scholarship program at North Carolina approved schools has been established for the qualifying children of certain class or category of deceased, disabled, combat, or POW/MIA veterans. ·Gates Millennium Scholars – This program is for students who have significant financial need and have demonstrated leadership skills. African American, Native American, Asian, or Hispanic student who have 3.3 unweighted GPA & plan to study computer science, education, engineering, library science, math, public health or science. ·Elon Teaching Fellows — Outstanding students who have a GPA of at least 3.7, and have a combined critical reading, math and writing SAT score of 1900 (ACT 28) or higher should consider applying. ·Americas Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Scholarship — New in 2014, the America's Farmers Grow Ag Leaders scholarship program gives students like you the opportunity to earn a $1,500 scholarship to further your agricultural education. ·Wells Fargo CollegeSTEPS Sweepstakes—When you sign up to receive college planning and money management information from Wells Fargo’s CollegeSTEPS Program, you’ll automatically be entered in the CollegeSTEPS Sweepstakes for a chance to win $1,000. Enroll at wellsfargo.com/collegesteps and you’ll be automatically entered in the CollegeSTEPS Sweepstakes. Sweepstakes winners are chosen through random drawings, giving you a chance to win $1,000. A total of 200 $1,000 prizes will be awarded (100 to high school students, 100 to college students). ·Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) - Amount: Covers full tuition, fees, and books. Criteria: Students must be US Citizens, graduate from high school, be 17 years of age before scholarship activation, meet appropriate physical fitness standards, must not be a single parent; SAT scores 1100+ (Critical Writing & Math) OR ACT score of 24+, must have an unweighted GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale), and be ranked in the top 40% of your class. -Majesty Beauty Academy Scholarships—As part of Majesty Beauty Academy ongoing scholarship program, 20 students per quarter who are attending Union and Surrounding county schools will each be Awarded a $2000 Scholarship intended to be used strictly towards tuition for Natural Hair Care. Students must be enrolled in High School and maintain an attendance average of 85% with a minimum GPA of 2.5 to be considered eligible. You must submit the application along with a 1-2 page essay detailing why you chose a career in the beauty industry and how you see Natural Hair Care playing a role in your future career. The application must also be verified by a school official. Please see the Cuthbertson scholarship website for the application. -The Levine Scholars Program is UNC-Charlotte’s most prestigious merit scholarship program that was established in 2009 by benefactors Sandra and Leon Levine. The inaugural class of Levine Scholars entered in the fall semester of 2010 and a new cohort of approximately 15 students is selected to join the program each year. Levine Scholarships are awarded to extraordinary high school seniors based on scholarship, ethical leadership, and civic engagement.To learn more about the program and the process please click here!

-The MilitaryVALoan Scholarship is awarded in support of disability awareness. Every year, a student will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship to help with the costs associated with attending University or College. The scholarship application can be seen here. The deadline is January 10, 2015.

Each year, a prospective or current college student will be selected to receive a $1000 scholarship to help with the costs associated with attending school. Interested applicants should submit a 500-1000 word essay describing what they hope to accomplish with their nursing career / healthcare. Applicants and potential scholarship winners will be critiqued by the editorial staff and selected annually on Dec. 17th. Applications for this year’s award are due by November 17, 2014.
