-Majesty Beauty Academy Scholarships—As part of Majesty Beauty Academy ongoing scholarship program, 20 students per quarter who are attending Union and Surrounding county schools will each be Awarded a $2000 Scholarship intended to be used strictly towards tuition for Natural Hair Care. Students must be enrolled in High School and maintain an attendance average of 85% with a minimum GPA of 2.5 to be considered eligible. You must submit the application along with a 1-2 page essay detailing why you chose a career in the beauty industry and how you see Natural Hair Care playing a role in your future career. The application must also be verified by a school official. Please see the Cuthbertson scholarship website for the application. The John Montgomery Belk Scholarship is one of our nation's most prestigious and generous undergraduate scholarships. The program is built around our belief that, as a Belk Scholar, you possess unique talents that should be recognized and nurtured. The scholarship is valued over $58,000 and can be renewed each year. -DAR Good Citizen—This award is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. Once a CHS senior is selected as the DAR Good Citizen the student is invited to participate in the scholarship portion of the program. The state winner receives an award of $250.00, the regional winner receives an award of $500.00 and the national winner receives an award of $5,000.00. Interested seniors need to submit a one page essay on how they have demonstrated the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their family school and community to Mrs. Devine at deanna.devine@ucps.k12.nc.us by 3:00 on Tuesday October 17th.

-The Levine Scholars Program is UNC-Charlotte’s most prestigious merit scholarship program that was established in 2009 by benefactors Sandra and Leon Levine. The inaugural class of Levine Scholars entered in the fall semester of 2010 and a new cohort of approximately 15 students is selected to join the program each year. Levine Scholarships are awarded to extraordinary high school seniors based on scholarship, ethical leadership, and civic engagement.To learn more about the program and the process please click here!

-The MilitaryVALoan Scholarship is awarded in support of disability awareness. Every year, a student will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship to help with the costs associated with attending University or College. The scholarship application can be seen here. The deadline is January 10, 2015.

Each year, a prospective or current college student will be selected to receive a $1000 scholarship to help with the costs associated with attending school. Interested applicants should submit a 500-1000 word essay describing what they hope to accomplish with their nursing career / healthcare. Applicants and potential scholarship winners will be critiqued by the editorial staff and selected annually on Dec. 17th. Applications for this year’s award are due by November 17, 2014.
