SAVE Recognizes International Day of Peace

September 21 was the International Day of Peace. This year’s theme was “We all have a right to peace.” The International Day of Peace was first established in 1981 as a day of non-violence and cease-fire by the United Nations General Assembly. It is the hope that each year on this day, millions of people participate in activities, events, concerts and festivals to raise awareness of the need for peace. On a local level, Cavaliers recognized the day by wearing t-shirts sold by the CHS SAVE club. The shirts read “We are all Cavaliers” on the front and “We all deserve to walk in the sun” on the back. The money raised by the shirts was donated to the Turning Point in Monroe.
