  • CHS Principal Mr. Rob Jackson has been selected as the Wachovia Southwest Region VI Principal of the Year! The announcement was made by Superintendent Dr. Ed Davis at a surprise staff meeting Friday, January 21, 2010.

  • Cuthbertson High School has been named a UCPS International School. CHS is one of three UCPS schools to earn this distinction.

Cavs Host Third Graders for Wake Up to Ag Day

CHS Cavaliers continued the UCPS tradition of “Wake Up to Agriculture Day” Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Wake Up to Agriculture Day raises awareness of the agricultural heritage of Union County and North Carolina. Over 300 third grade students attended the CHS Ag Day from Waxhaw, New Town, and Kensington Elementary Schools.

To the citizens of Union County

I am writing to comment on the recent public discussion and news media information regarding school spending. As Superintendent, I understand how important this issue is to everyone. I must say that I am increasingly concerned with how the spending practices of Union County Public Schools have been presented and characterized. At first, I chose not to respond, thinking that most thoughtful people would see this for what it is and it would run its course. However, I can no longer sit by and see a great school district, the shining star of this county, continue to be disrespected and unfairly characterized.
